About DoHype
What DoHype Is
DoHype is a small, independent website built around six marketing calculators and a set of reference pages that explain the numbers behind them. It exists because engagement rate, CPM, CTR, conversion rate, ROAS, and influencer rates each involve a bit of arithmetic that is easy to get wrong by hand, and mildly annoying to redo every time a campaign changes. That is the whole premise: plug in the numbers you already have, get a clear answer back.
What DoHype Isn’t
DoHype is not a marketing agency, an analytics platform, or a vendor of paid media. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Meta, Google Ads, or any other platform or ad network whose metrics the tools happen to calculate — the formulas here are general and public, not pulled from any one platform’s private data. There is no dedicated support desk, no account manager, and no sales team behind this site; it is run on a small scale, without the trappings of a larger company.
Every number a calculator returns is an estimate produced from the figures you type in and a standard formula — not a guarantee of how a post, ad, or campaign will actually perform. Real results depend on your platform, audience, industry, and timing, and none of that is visible to a calculator. Nothing on DoHype is professional marketing, financial, or business advice; for decisions with real money attached, verify the numbers in your own platform analytics and, where the stakes are high, talk to someone qualified.
How This Site Pays Its Bills
DoHype is supported by display advertising. That is the entire business model: the tools and guides stay free to use, and ads shown alongside them fund the hosting and the time spent building and maintaining the site. There is no premium tier and nothing here is paywalled.
The Six Tools
Each calculator is built around one specific question a marketer or creator actually has:
- Engagement Rate Calculator — turns likes, comments, shares, and saves into an engagement rate against followers or reach, with a rating for whether a post is under- or over-performing.
- CPM Calculator — solves for cost per 1,000 impressions, total spend, or impressions, from whichever two figures you already have.
- CTR Calculator — works out click-through rate from clicks and impressions, and adds cost per click if you enter ad spend.
- Conversion Rate Calculator — measures the share of visitors who convert, plus cost per conversion if you add ad spend.
- ROAS Calculator — turns revenue and ad spend into return on ad spend, ROI percentage, and profit.
- Influencer Rate Calculator — estimates an indicative sponsored-post rate from follower count, engagement rate, and platform, as a starting point for pricing a collaboration, not a rate card.
Beyond the Calculators
Past the tools, DoHype has a learn section for background reading on the concepts the calculators use, a blog with articles on marketing and growth, and a Marketing & Social Media Museum— a set of galleries on the platforms, advertising disciplines, and internet-culture moments that shaped how marketing works today, with every entry, image, and fact sourced from Wikipedia and Wikimedia Commons.
If a tool gives you a confusing result, or you think a formula is wrong, get in touch— that kind of feedback is genuinely useful and gets read.
